What is Wood Badge?
Reflecting on the best of 115 years of Scouting experiences, Wood Badge draws upon the most current leadership models used by corporate America, academic circles, and other successful public and private organizations.
Wood Badge is designed to meet the advanced leadership needs of all Scouters, including Cub Scout leaders, Scoutmasters and Assistants, Venturing Crew Advisors, Sea Scout Skippers, Committee Chairs, and Committee Members. Additionally, Scouters serving at the District and Council levels can achieve greater effectiveness through Wood Badge.
Why attend Wood Badge?
By taking Wood Badge, Scouters gain valuable skills like listening, communicating, conflict management, project planning, and leading change. Participants learn how to be a better Scout leader, professional, and person. Attending Wood Badge will help you learn the what and why of Scouting and to build your unit into a stronger unit. Units with trained leaders are able to deliver an improved program and a more meaningful experience for the youth Scouting serves.
