Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader

Common sense tells us that training is important, and research shows the importance of trained leaders. A trained leader is knowledgeable and more confident in the role being performed. Trained leaders exhibit a knowledge and confidence that is picked up by people around them. Trained leaders impact the quality of programs, leader tenure, youth tenure, safety, and a whole lot more. A trained leader is better prepared to make the Scouting program all it can be!

How do you update your training?

1. Go to my.scouting.org and create an account OR log into the account you already created.  Select the Find the training you need to be completely trained.  “Every youth deserves a trained leader!”
2. Youth Protection Training expires every two years. Did you know Weather Hazards is required and also expires every two years?  What else are you missing?
3. District Committee Training is now online and good info for everyone to know how to support the entire District. Check it out!
4. Every scout unit’s KEY THREE leaders can check the training of the leaders in their unit online anytime.  Are your leaders trained to know how to use the resources available?   Are they completely trained for their CURRENT position?   Is it credited online?    Need help?  Contact our Council Training Chairs Sue & Carol  Their contact info listed below.
