Commissioners are district and council leaders who help units succeed. They coach and consult with adult leaders of Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops and Venturing crews. Commissioners help maintain the standards of the Boy Scouts of America.
Unit commissioners focus on the following four primary areas:
1. Support unit growth through the Journey to Excellence.
2. Contacting units and capturing their strengths and needs in Commissioner Tools.
3. Linking unit needs to district operating committee resources.
4. Supporting timely charter renewal.
Do you have experience as a unit leader? Maybe you've been out of Scouting for a while but would like to get involved again? Or you're an Eagle Scout who wants to give back to Scouting?
We're always looking to add unit commissioners to our team! If you are interested, contact our District Commissioner Alvin Watts.
