Camp Cherokee is a primitive camp located near Louisa, Kentucky on Yatesville Lake. Its facilities include a cabin with electricity, two shelters, and a large open field for abundant camping options. Latrines are located near the shelters and cabin. There is also a sheltered cove with lake access. Camp Cherokee does not have water. Units are asked to bring enough water for your needs. The camp is protected with a locked gate. Please call the Huntington Scout Shop at 304-523-3408 to reserve the camp.
Yatesville Lake is a 2,300 acre mountain reservoir located in eastern Kentucky. Built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the park is managed by the Kentucky Department of Parks. Yatesville Lake is located entirely in Lawrence County, KY, on Blaine Creek, a tributary of the Big Sandy River. Built under the Flood Control Act of 1965, Yatesville Lake has a maximum depth of 60 feet with an average mean depth of 17.7 feet.

From I-64 Catlettsburg, KY Exit 191, follow US Rt. 23 south to Louisa, KY. Turn onto Route 3 West. Go 4.6 miles to Route 1185. Turn left onto Route 1185 and proceed 2.5 miles toward the Marina. Boy Scout Road is on the left as you head toward the Marina. Follow the signs to the camp.
