Accomodations: We camp in a primitive area of Little Beaver State Park. Potable water is available at the entrance to the camping area. Your family, den or pack will need to bring all tents, sleeping bags, camp chairs, tables, cooking gear, etc. required for your group.
Vehicles: All vehicles are to be parked in the designated parking area by 9pm Friday. No vehicles will be allowed to remain in the campsites unless approved in advance by camp management.
Campfires: No open campfires are permitted except in the community fire ring or in portable fireplaces. Other than firewood, nothing is to be burned in the fire. Cub Scouts should not be permitted to stoke, play in or cook over an open fire. Marshmallows may be roasted under adult supervision.
Meals: All families are responsible for bringing and cooking their own meals. Packs or dens may coordinate meals among themselves as desired.
Activities: Little Beaver is a great location for outdoor activities. There are many marked trails for hiking and biking and a map is attached. Be sure to have appropriate footwear for hiking, and if you bring your bikes, make sure everyone has a helmet. If you plan to take advantage of the great fishing at the lake, a valid WV fishing license is required for adults, and don’t forget to bring your gear and bait! Little Beaver’s “Haunted Trail” will be open nightly from 7pm-11pm for those brave enough to walk it! (Little Beaver does charge a fee for the Haunted Trail).
Special Event: Given our proximity to Halloween, we will be having a costume contest Saturday night at campfire, as well as tent-to-tent Trick or Treating – bring some candy to hand out at your tent. Feel free to decorate your campsite too --- prizes will be awarded for best costume and best campsite! Also, bring a plain white T-shirt with you for a special activity on Sunday morning!
Campfire: Bring your performers! Please come prepared with skits & songs for the campfire Saturday night!
