2010
Friends of Scouting Charleston Leadership Luncheon
As we celebrate 100 years of Scouting I invite you to help me honor John
A. Hopkins with our Good Scouter Award. He is a world war two veteran,
former trust banker, past council president of the Buckskin Council, Silver
Beaver recipient and one of the founders of this luncheon. John will be
celebrating his 100 years of life as we celebrate Scouting’s 100 years.
Our guest speaker this year is Jack Furst who is the National Chairman
for “THE SUMMIT: Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve being built in
Fayette County. He will share with us the vision, search, selection, and
current developments of the new center. We will have a model of the site on
display at the luncheon.
Please join me on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Pavilion
at the Charleston Marriott. No ticket is required but a minimum contribution
of $200 is the level requested to attend the luncheon. I know our loyal
friends give more than this to Scouting and will you increase your gift this
year as we celebrate our 100th Anniversary.
