Buckskin Scout Reservation Summer Camp Programs  

The Staff of Buckskin Scout Reservation would like to invite you and your Scout Unit to be part of the 2013 summer. We will be offering some additional
Merit Badges as well as a few new programs to ensure that your Scout Unit has the best summer camp experience possible. For your older Scouts
we will be offering our high energy Adventure West Virginia program. With whitewater rafting, climbing, caving and host of other outdoor adventures this
is sure to be an experience that will last a lifetime. The Order of the Arrow will also be offering some additional programs to ensure your older Scouts
have an opportunity for fellowship and fun. Please take the time to call the Buckskin Council Service Center at 304-340-3663 to ensure that your Scout
Unit is registered for this epic summer of Scouting! With warm sunny days and crisp cool evenings you are sure to have a comfortable and memorable
camping experience. We look forward to seeing you at camp this summer!

Buckskin Scout Reservation (Dilleys Mill) directions.

Take I-64 to White Sulfur Springs Exit. Turn left at base of exit. Go to stop sign turn right. Go straight through White Sulfur Springs to Rt. 92. Turn left on to Rt. 92, go to the end. Turn left on to Rt. 39. Follow Rt. 39 through Mini Ha Ha Springs and Huntersville. Just after passing through Huntersville, turn right on to Rt. 28. Go 5 to 7 miles and camp will be on the right sign reads, “Buckskin Scout Reservation”. Fallow the drive entrance to the right, to the office and parking area.

Would you like to work at Buckskin Scout Reservation?

We at the Buckskin Scout Reservation are excited
to offer Scouts and Scouters an opportunity this upcoming summer to continue to develop in the Scouting Program. Buckskin Scout Reservation is currently seeking qualified staff members for the 2013 Summer Camp Season. As a staff member at Buckskin Scout Reservation you will have the responsibility of teaching and mentoring young Scouts in many of the skills and areas that you have already mastered as a member of your Troop. Please take the time to review the application and seriously consider spending your summer giving back to the Boy Scout Program. Summer Camp Staff positions are six weeks long and run from June 9th, 2013 through July 21st, 2013. Staff positions at BSR are paid positions, and you will be compensated according to your level of responsibility. Seasonal Staff Application


2013 National Jamboree & Summer Camp at Buckskin Scout Reservation

The Buckskin Council is exited to announce that we will be holding  an additional week of summer camp at Buckskin Scout Reservation  that will coincide with the 2013 National Jamboree at the Summit (July 14th-21st). This all-inclusive program is an exciting traditional summer camp experience as well as 2 days of touring the 2013 National Jamboree. The days of touring include transportation for you and your unit on charter busses as well as all visitor fees for the Jamboree site.
Buckskin Scout Reservation is located in the heart of Appalachia in beautiful Dunmore, WV. Buckskin Scout Reservation offers a multitude of programs for Scouts of all ages, and BSR is only a short drive from Mount Hope, WV, the new permanent home of the Boy Scout of America National Jamboree and High Adventure Base, The Summit.

Jamboree Experience:  Allow all of your Scouts and Scouters the best of both worlds. A traditional summer camp experience as well as experiencing the inaugural 2013 National Jamboree at the Summit! We will be visiting the Summit on Saturday for the energizing  Arena Show as well as Friday to take in all of the new activities and attractions.
Merit Badge Program: We plan to offer a four day merit badge program. (Monday- Thursday)  Our Camp is steeped in tradition, and has been offering this particular program for many years. Scouts will have the opportunity to experience all of the merit badges listed in our Summer Camp Leader’s Guide.


 High Adventure (AWV): For the older Scouts we are offering the option to sign up for Adventure West Virginia (AWV) High Adventure program.
A brief description of the program is as follows:
• Monday-Tuesday morning: Mountain Man Experience and Overnight on the Greenbrier River Includes: Trapping, tomahawk throwing, outdoor cooking, wilderness survival techniques and shelters, and more…
• Tuesday afternoon- Caving
• Wednesday- Rock Climbing
• Thursday- white water rafting on the New River
• Friday and Saturday- visiting the 2013 National Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve (SBR)

Youth Participant Cost $350
Adult Participant Cost: $250
AWV Youth and Adult Cost: $500
.
All of us Buckskin Scout Reservation strive to accommodate everyone and be flexible with our program. If you have suggestions about things you would like to do or see at camp, please let us know. We will do our best to make all the opportunities you desire available to you and your Scouts.
