Serving West Virginia,
Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky

Are you looking for high adventure programs for this summer? Buckskin Scout Reservation is offering two great opportunities this summer!

Located in the heart of Appalachia in beautiful Dunmore, WV, Buckskin Scout Reservation offers a multitude of programs for Scouts of All ages. Only a short drive from Mount Hope, WV, the new site for National Jamboree and High Adventure Base. Buckskin Scout Reservation offers  many of the same High Adventure Activities that will eventually be part of the program at the Summit. Our Adventure West Virginia program offers whitewater rafting, climbing, caving, hiking and other touring options to make sure that your time spent in West Virginia is full of memories and adventure that will last a lifetime.

The Adventure West Virginia Program offered at Buckskin Scout Reservation is an outdoor experience targeted at older Scouts who have attended summer camp before and completed most of the traditional activities and merit badges needed for advancement. The program offers an array of activities including hiking, whitewater rafting, spelunking, rock climbing, and touring in the scenic mountains of West Virginia. This program is available for $365 to participants registering prior to May 15th, 2014 and $390 for participants registering after. There are no scholarships or discounts available for this program. Leaders planning to participate in the program will pay full price, and there will be no “free leaders”. The program is designed to offer high energy, physically demanding activities, so all participants should be in good physical shape and ready for a week of exciting activities. As far as equipment needs participants should bring an old pair of sturdy shoes and old clothes for the caving experience, good shoes for climbing, hiking gear, water bottle, and a swimsuit for the whitewater rafting experience.
